Finding the Right Co Founder
Recently, I joined a startup program and met lots of founders. 😊
We exchanged our ideas and discussed potential collaborations. It is great, but it is often encountered. I am not sure what the idea is. 😕 It is indeed hard to explain something without any working prototype. 🛠️ But sometimes just one line of explanation gives us a clear understanding. 💡
It reminds me of when we start looking for a life partner. 💑 I still remember the first time I met my wife, and when I saw her, I could clearly sense that something special might happen. ❤️ And it did. 💫
Finding a co-founder can be challenging and tiring. 😓 We often approach it with the idea of finding a life partner, but maybe we should take a different approach. I’ve met some aspiring founders who were looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO), but they wanted something different than what they initially communicated and asked for significant commitments in the startup. 😬 Sometimes, we’re even asked to sacrifice our personal lives because we’re part of an early-stage startup.
But when you first meet your husband or wife, do you ask the same questions just because you’re young and poor? Probably not, and perhaps that’s why we struggle to find good co-founders. We expect them to work as true partners, but sometimes we only ask for their contributions without giving much in return. Co-founders are not just friends, family, or angels from heaven.
We need to define our shared goals and responsibilities rather than merely expecting them to work for free. Trust is crucial in this partnership. 🤝 Remember, people come before the idea. Many startups fail because of issues with the founders themselves. Regardless of the official reasons, deep down, it often boils down to the founders being the real issue. 😅🚀
